Butterfly Accent

Butterflies are so popular right now.  They're showing up on cards and gifts all over the place.  I wonder what it is about them that fascinates us?  They are awfully pretty and I've been to a butterfly conservatory and it's really something to see.  If you have the chance to visit one, I recommend it.  There's something very calming and elegant about seeing lots of them together in one place.  Anyway, on to my card. Today was the first time all week I had the opportunity to spend some time in my stamp room and I really wanted to make a card using Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  But when I got there I had no idea what I wanted to do.  So I randomly picked up the Nouveau Chic paper and started cutting.  Sometimes you just have to dig right in!  I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but on the butterfly I used the technique where you ink up a background stamp then stamp your image on that rather than on an ink pad.  I used Canvas and it actually looks pretty neat in real life.  The image is a little light but I decided to mat the butterfly on some Sage Shadow and I think it shows it up a little better.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have time to stamp today!
