Friday Mashup 105 and Fab Friday 16

The colors this week at the Fab Friday challenge are really pretty.  I know I'm in the minority when I say that I like Summer Starfruit, but I do like it and I think it gets a bad rap!  I like that it's not quite yellow and it's not exactly green, but somewhere in between.  Anyway, I paired all the colors in the challenge with this great sketch from Friday Mashup.

I thought a nice, soft Crumb Cake background would look good with these bright colors and I think I'm right!  A nice springy card, I say to myself!  And spring would be a welcome change around here.  It's been quite chilly here the last few days, but I think warmer weather is on the horizon.  I've got my fingers crossed anyway!

Well that's it for me.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Funky Florals (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories:  Sentiment Strips die (My Favorite Things); Scallop Border die (The Stamps of Life); Witch Hazel button (October Afternoon); crochet thread; dimensionals

Well no one told me that Starfruit wasn't liked. I'm on your side, Jen, I think it so pretty and it photographs nicely, too, which is not the case with a lot of yellow Hughs. Your card is very striking!!

I hate Starfruit SOOOOOOOOOO much, but you made it look nice. :) I think anyone with a baby probably won't be a big fan of that color. lol

Great card Jen, I agree that the Crumb Cake is a great choice for these colors! Also, you can have the Summer Starfruit....I'm one of those people that hates it :)

Thanks for joining us at The Friday Mashup!

This is gorgeous Jen, a great use of those colours. I adore Summer Starfruit and it's so 'now' - brilliant for making a 70s retro vibe!

I love the clean look of this card! And I love the way you've used the colors -- just pops of pretty color with lots of neutral Crumb Cake (and polka dots -- even better). I think Summer Starfruit gets a bad rap too. I like it in small doses. These flowers are really cute!

I guess I'm an outlier. I love Summer Starfruit. Your use of it in combination with the other colors is very well done, too.
