Freshly Made Sketches 100th Sketch Spectacular!

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

I'm so excited that today is finally here!  Over at Freshly Made Sketches we are celebrating our 100th sketch and you don't want to miss out on the fun!  We've got special guests joining us and lots of PRIZES to give away to lucky participants in the gallery!

We decided to go seriously retro this week and have resurrected our first ever sketch!  We had fun with the sketch back then and I'm pretty sure we'll have fun with it now too!

As luck would have it, I put my sentiment in the wrong place {oops} but we're a forgiving bunch at Freshly Made Sketches, so I'm pretty sure that it's ok!  The feather is a new stamp for me.  I kept seeing it all over blogland and finally bought it.  It arrived just in time to use it for this card.  I wanted a bit of texture on my card so I added the bit of burlap and my color inspiration comes from CASE Study.

I can hardly believe that two years ago when Lesley asked me if I wanted to be on the design team for a new challenge that she was creating that I would find myself here today celebrating a milestone like this.  The experience of sharing what I love to do with the amazing Freshly Made Sketches design team and with everyone that joins us in the gallery each week is truly the best job in the world!  And the success the challenge has become is entirely due all of the wonderful stampers and scrapbookers who join us each week.  We truly would not be here without you!

It all starts on the Freshly Made Sketches blog where you'll find that some dear stamping friends have joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone.  And to make things just a teeny bit more exciting we've got prizes to give away to random participants in the gallery!  So don't miss out on all the fun.  Go grab some stamps, ink, and paper and get cracking!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Fancy Feathers (Clearly Besotted)
Accessories:  Canvas Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink); burlap; Midway button (October Afternoon); Enamel Dew Drop Stickers (Freckled Fawn); white embossing powder, linen thread, crochet thread

Wow! That feather stamp is amazing. I kept reading it and saying, no way, that's a real feather! I had to blow the picture up huge to see that it was really a stamp! Amazing! Gorgeous card! Love the details, colors and textures, too.

Ok, I had to enlarge your photo because I couldn't believe that feather was really a stamp. It's so realistic looking and it's gorgeous stamped on the vellum. Love all of the texture and the gorgeous colors here. Thanks so much, Jen, for all of your work with the FMS blog. I truly appreciate all you do behind the scenes.
