Freshly Made Sketches 126

Its Wednesday so that means there's a brand new sketch reveal at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week Amy is our hostess and you are going to love this sketch!  It's absolutely perfect for using up some of that patterned paper I know you've been hoarding!

I have a lot of designer paper and for a long time I've been saying that I won't buy any more until I've used up what I've got.  And then I saw this pretty Sweet Sorbet paper in the SU sale-a-bration catalog and coudn't resist it.  And it was free, so technically I didn't "buy" more for my stash.  At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

As I was putting this card together I intended to cut those ginkgo leaves out of Pistachio Pudding.  But for some reason I kept pulling Coastal Cabana from the drawer with all my card stock, not realizing my mistake.  I even said to myself that I thought that Pistachio Pudding was more green.  It wasn't until I started to put my card together and saw how my ginkgo leaves compared with the colors of the DSP that I figured out what I had done.  Oops.  I kind of liked what I saw so I kept it.

The challenge this week at The Paper Players is "thank you" and "where the heck is spring" so this card is for them too.  I used a butterfly instead of a flower because I figured that if I see an actual butterfly around these parts I definitely know it's spring.  And in case you're wondering, the challenge at The Paper Players is actually something more along the lines of using spring colors on your thank you card, but after the winter we've all had I think a little poetic license in order.

My friends at Freshly Made Sketches have cooked up a gorgeous batch of cards for your viewing pleasure this week so be sure to check them out.  Can't wait to see you in the gallery!
