Tropical Party Birthday Redux

I think I may have mentioned that I LOVE this tropical party stamp set.  I'm not sure what it is, but I just love it.  Maybe it's the whole idea of tropical flowers, palm trees and pina coladas on the beach!  I don't know.  I just know that I keep wanting to reach for this stamp set and its companion paper Island Oasis.  For this card I decided to use the Pals Paper Arts Challenge 44.  It's been a while since I've participated in their fabulous challenges and I couldn't resist this awesome sketch.

Tropical Party Birthday

I really like this tropical party stamp set.  And the tropical theme is so popular!   As I've been blog surfing, I've seen some really adorable things with this theme.  Beach bags are everywhere!  (I just wish I had the Baskets and Blooms Sizzix die to make them)!  :(  It seems that every time I go shopping I see party supplies with a tropical flair.  It makes me want to have a party myself.  Alas, since I don't see any tropical parties on my horizon, I have had to content myself with making some cute cards using this super fun set.  I've got some summer birthdays coming up so I figured I'd make my cards tropical birthdays!  For this one I used the Splitcoast sketch challenge #281.

Happy Graduation UVA!

I think this is my last graduation card!  I've mentioned before that I've got a bunch of graduations this year.  My niece, Stephanie, graduated from Quinnipiac University last weekend and this weekend my nephew, Ben, is graduating from the University of Virginia.  My sister asked me to make a card for her to give Ben so I decided to use the UVA colors and the MOJO139 sketch.  I really like how this turned out, so now I'm not sure I want to give it away!  Of course I will, but reluctantly!

Calling All Birthday Cards

As I was doing my usual blog surfing today, I discovered that Gretchen Barron is celebrating a birthday soon and would like handmade birthday cards sent to her so that she can send them to From Our Hearts.  (Read Gretchen's post here).  As soon as I read it I thought it was a great idea, and although I had some birthday cards on hand to send, I decided to make another one.

I can't resist Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and I'm glad I was able to participate in the challenge this week (I'm not always so lucky)!  Her layouts are always so awesome!  And to double the fun, I used the colors from the Curtain Call 30 color challenge.  {Sweet}.  I'm on vacation this week, so hopefully I'll be able to spend lots of time in my stamp room.  I've got a lot of things on my vacation to-do list, but I think I can squeeze some stamping time in!

Cute Thank You Tags

I think these are just adorable.

I got the idea from this adorable matchbox here.  I CASEd the layout and changed the colors to the fabulous (but retired) kiwi kiss.  These make a lovely tag for a gift bag or any gift, really.  I think I may make some more of these in a variety of colors.  It's nice to have things like this on hand.  Plus they are so cute!!

July 4th Celebration

Nothing like being ahead on your holiday cards, I've always said.  Of course, I always SAY this.  I don't actually do this.  (If I did, I'd be halfway through my Christmas cards by now!!).  However, this is the first July 4th stamp set I've ever owned and as I contemplated what stamp set I wanted to use for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, I realized it would work really well with the sketch and at the same time take the pressure off making some cool July 4th cards well ahead of the holiday.  I hope it's not too busy!!

Bridal Shower Invitations

I was asked recently to come up with some ideas for bridal shower invitations.  The main color is brown, so of course I went with one of my all-time favorites:  chocolate chip.  (On a side note, if I had some of the brand new, soon to be released Early Espresso on hand I would have picked that in a heartbeat - luscious!!).  I went with a clean and simple look for these samples.  I'm not sure it's exactly what the mother-of-the-bride was looking for, but I sure like them!

Birthday Card

Wow!  Where has the week gone? I'm sure you have all had one of those weeks where it seems like every day you're so busy you don't have time to think!  Well this past week was like that for me.  I'm not sure what it is that I've been doing this week, but I'm sure it was something worthwhile!!!  Anyway, here is the one and only card I managed to squeeze in this week.
I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for my layout and I turned to the fabulous Sweet Pea designer paper for my colors.

Tropical Party Invitation

Oh, how I wish this invitation was real!  Who wouldn't love to be invited to a tropical destination for a party with pretty flowers and pina coladas served in hollowed out coconut shells?  Alas, I must content myself with just the invitation (and a fake one at that), since there are no tropical parties in my future.

I decided at the last minute to try and squeeze in a challenge for Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I simply couldn't resist the opportunity to win some stamps from the amazing and talented Claire Brennan.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you have time to stamp today!
