Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday and welcome to the latest edition of ColourQ! I just love the colors this week and I took the opportunity to use them to make a Christmas card.
The sketch at Paper Players worked out perfectly for this cute Santa. And the big circle was just calling out for some sparkly Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. In fact this card is full of sparkle in real life because I added some to Santa's hat and beard!
The always amazing ColourQ design team have created some beauties with these colors so be sure to check them out. I hope you can find some time to join us this week. And thanks for stopping by!

colourQ 296
Hello! It's time for a new palette from your friends at colourQ! This week the colors are inspired by these flip flops. They are so gorgeous and I love that bit of bling! Here's my card:
I've created a bit of an abstract version of the Match the Sketch layout here by layering images rather than card stock or patterned paper. Then I topped it off with a bright yellow flower and some blue leaves - yes, blue! That's what I call artistic license!
Thanks for stopping by today! And please pop on over to colourQ and check out the cards our amazing design team have created with these colors. I hope you have time to join us in the gallery this week!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge (SU); Ink Splats (Indigo Blu); Artful Flowers (Simon Says Stamp); Family is Everything (My Creative Time)
Paper: White (Spectrum Noir); Night of Navy (SU)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, Marina Mist Night of Navy (SU)
Accessories: Curvy Leaves die (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Peace
It is a very dreary, dull, and rainy Sunday here today. It's raining to beat the band and it's so humid that there's a fine sheen of moisture on every surface in my house: the counters, the floors, yuck. Unfortunately I live in an old house with no AC to take care of the moisture so I have to wait for the rain to stop to dry things out! But on to my card...
I was inspired by the colors and the design of the Muse Christmas Visions card this week and tried to recreate the watercolored background by using some stamped images. The deer die was cut with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and looks really snazzy in real life. The sentiment die was cut three times and layered together for some dimension. For my layout I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.
Well that's it for me. Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamps: Watercolor Wonder (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink); Whisper White, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer (SU)
Ink: Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink); Bashful Blue (SU)
Accessories: Vertical Stitched Strips die (My Favorite Things); Leap Deer die (Memory Box); Wet Paint Holiday die (Papertrey Ink)

Tag You're It 24
TGIF everyone! Friday's around here are a happy day not only because it is the gateway to the weekend but also because it's the day a new tag challenge starts at Tag You're It. This week Anja is our hostess and she's given us some wonderful inspiration with her tag. Here's my take and her original.
I wanted to follow the basic layout of her tag, although I did rotate it, and I almost used a dog on mine! But as I was looking through my stash I came across this big blossom and since I hadn't used this stamp in a long while I thought it was high time I should! I kept the base layer of my tag a neutral color like Anja's card and added a splash of color to the top of the tag. The blossom was stamped on vellum so that the color could be seen through it and also it allowed me to hang part of it off the edge of the tag. I kept the die cut sentiment the same word and added a wee stamped word underneath. Easy peasy! Now this tag is ready to be added to a card front or used on its own.
Our wonderful Tag You're It design team has created some wonderful tags this week so be sure to check them out. I hope to see you in the gallery!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamps: Pocket Full of Posies (Technique Tuesday); Hand Lettered Hello (WPlus9)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum (SU)
Ink: Hawaiian Shores (Papertrey Ink); Onyx Black (Versamark)
Accessories: Traditional Tags STAX, Pierced Traditional Tags STAX (My Favorite Things); Hand Lettered Hello die (WPlus9); black embossing powder

Freshly Made Sketches 191
I've been so busy the last few days trying to get caught up in my stamp room. All that time lounging around outside in the sunshine is good for the soul but wreaks havoc on a stamping schedule! On a happy note today is Freshly Made Sketches day so let's get to it. Jen Timko is our hostess this week and her sketch is got a big space that is perfect for pretty much anything you might have in mind!
I thought that big space was perfect for some fluttering butterflies. And speaking of butterflies that happens to be the challenge at Addicted to CAS and I also stacked the "be" sentiment die cut because that's what they are looking for at Just Us Girls!
Well that's it for me today! The Freshly Made Sketches design team has made some beautiful cards with this sketch so I hope you are inspired to join us in the gallery! I hope to see you there!

colourQ 295
The weather has been so fantastic around here that I have been totally neglecting my stamp room! I can't possibly justify holing myself up inside when the sun is shining, the temperatures are warm and the flowers and veggies need watering. But I did manage to get inside a time or two to make a card for today's colourQ palette!
This one is pretty CAS and I'm sure you recognize the CAS(E) This Sketch layout! When I started making this card I was going to use an entirely different floral image stamped in shades of pink than the one you see here but changed my mind at the last minute. There was a piece of vellum hanging around my desk and when I saw it I thought that it would look pretty embossed in gold with this image instead.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other colourQ designers cards this week!
Supplies:
Stamps: Hennah Elements (Altenew); Beautiful Butterflies (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Night of Navy, Vellum (SU);
Ink: Night of Navy (SU); Distress Embossing Ink
Accessories: Pierced Square STAX (My Favorite Things); enamel dots (My Mind's Eye); embossing powder

Freshly Made Sketches 190
Yay, it's Wednesday! Which, of course, around here means a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! This week Amy is our hostess and her sketch gave me some room to show off some fun images.
The oval in the sketch turned out to be this dotted image on my card and since I couldn't let that image go un-adorned I added a butterfly layered with some vellum. The vertical layer on the side was made with a stencil and some translucent embossing paste (love that look)! The colors for my card come from the latest challenge at Sunday Stamps and the challenge this week at Addicted to CAS is butterflies!

colourQ 294
Happy Tuesday everyone! Today there's a new palette up at colourQ and this week we are inspired by these adorable flip flops that have been embellished a bit! How cute is that?
I use white so often as a card base that I like to shake things up a bit every so often and use something different. Today's card starts with a Soft Suede base so that I could have some contrast between it and the Pool Party and the two shades of yellow. I love how it looks!
This is two days in a row that I've used a doodled flower image from Rubbernecker Stamps. I love the abstract look of these images and how you can use them to layer colors together. And speaking of layers the sketch at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge was a great way to use some paper layers to show off the colors of the challenge. The top layer was wide open and perfect for this flower image and a little sentiment.
It's no surprise to you, I'm sure, that the colourQ design team has some beauties to inspire you this week to join us in the gallery! I hope you do!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamps: 3 Flowers (Rubbernecker Stamps); Bright Days (Avery Elle)
Paper: Soft Suede, Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White, Comfort Cafe DSP (SU)
Ink: So Saffron, Hello Honey, Soft Suede (SU)
Accessories: Small Stitched Rectangle die (Lawn Fawn); Pierced Fishtail Flags (My Favorite Things); Festive Fall Mix sequins (Neat & Tangled)

Thank You for CTS126 CTD345 AYSIC090
The weather here the last couple of days has been gorgeous so I've been spending a lot of time outside. But I did manage to sneak in my craft room and mass produce some graduation cards for a friend (and thanks to my MISTI for making it so easy to do!) and to make a one layer card for the latest As You See It challenge using the colors from Color Throwdown and the layout from CAS(E) This Sketch.
I had a little bit of a happy accident while making this card. I wanted to remain strictly true to the color challenge and just use one shade of red. But the stamp I wanted to use needed a little contrast between the image layers so I inked the largest image first, stamped off onto a piece of scrap paper then stamped it onto my card stock. The end result was rather splotchy and I considered trashing it but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. So I went ahead and added the other layers as usual. The flowers are sort of abstract and I think they look pretty good all splotched up!
I didn't have any leaves that looked right with these abstract flowers which meant no green leaves. So I stamped the sentiment in green instead! It looks quite dark in the photo and could be mistaken for black, but trust me it's green!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies:
Stamps: Abstract Poppies (Rubbernecker Stamps); Signature Greetings (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: White (Spectrum Noir)
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green (SU); Black Licorice (My Favorite Things)

Freshly Made Sketches 189
Hello, hello! I am typing this post on Tuesday night and it's quite cold. Up until Sunday spring around these parts was pretty good. Temperatures in the 80's, no rain (which is not always a good thing) and lots of sunshine. But suddenly a cold front moved in along with some rain and now I wish the heat was on. Things can only get better from here!
But enough of the weather, what you really came for is to see what I've been up to in my craft room. It's Wednesday so that, of course, means I'm showing you my card for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches! Narelle is our hostess this week and the intrepid lover of layers has given us a beauty!
I got some further inspiration from the colors and the butterflies used in the Muse challenge this week. My burlap circle is actually one of the MFT doily dies but I chose not to punch out the little details on it that would actually transform this from a scallop circle to a doily because the burlap unravels too much and it would have ended up looking like a big mess! I'm not sure it's entirely visible in the photo but I stamped a little grungy image behind the butterfly because all that white space on the tag was giving me the heebie jeebies! I even threw in a little enamel dot to shake things up!
There are some fantastic cards to be seen from the design team at Freshly Made Sketches so make sure you check them out. I hope you can join us in the gallery this week!

colourQ 293
And we're back! After a week-long break we are back at colourQ with a new palette of awesome colors. I decided to go all super-hero with my card this week!
The bold colors got me thinking of this dude and then I stumbled on this layout from Sketch Saturday. Their challenge was to choose one of their past sketches and as soon as I saw this one I knew it would be perfect for what I already had in mind.
And, of course, I'm playing along with the Paper Smooches Sparks "anything goes" challenge this week.
Our colourQ design team has some beautiful cards to inspire you this week. I hope to see you in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamps: Super (Paper Smooches)
Paper: Basic Black, Hello Honey, Tangerine Tango (SU)
Ink: White (WPlus9)
Accessories: Bam Bubbles die (Paper Smooches); Starry Nights stencil (Memory Box); black embossing paste (Wendy Vecchi); white embossing powder
