I think it's been quite a while since I participated in a Color Throwdown challenge. It seems there aren't enough days in the week to make as many cards as I want! But I really liked the colors this week, so I cleared my stamping calendar so that I could make a card for it. Then I came across the sketch at Deconstructed Sketch and thought I'd play matchmaker.
I'm really glad that I got to use some Poppy Parade again. Now that it's retired I seem to have developed a new appreciation for this very lovely color. I've still got some of the Poppy Parade DSP left, so you may be seeing it again. But what I really love about this color challenge is the Soft Sky. As it's name implies it is a beautiful soft blue and I luckily have some DSP called Afternoon Tea in my stash which featured this color. I love it when I can go way into my "vault" and use up some of my old stash!
The two largest butterflies are from the Beautiful Butterflies Sizzix Bigz die, the smaller one from Beautiful Wings Sizzix Embosslit. I used some of my never-ending supply of bakers twine to create the starburst effect then decided the butterflies needed some bling so I added a few Basic Pearls.
These are a couple of great challenges. Perfect for getting my creative juices going! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh! Love this one, Jen! Nobody does flowers and butterflies quite like you. :)
