The colors this week at Color Throwdown are really pretty, so last night I sat down with an idea and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch. By the time I was done I wasn't really happy with my card so I figured I'd sleep on it and see if I liked it any better in the morning.
But I woke up with an idea for a better card. I had plans to carefully pry certain bits of this card apart and replace it with my new and improved bits but then I remembered that I sewed the important parts of this card together and there was no way I was taking that apart. So the card stays. I used the new Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog which I accidentally ordered in wood. So all in all I've got a card I don't love made with a stamp set that is aggravatingly on a wooden base, which I also don't love. I hope the rest of my day gets better.
I'm going to think positive thoughts for the rest of the day, because this afternoon the Patriots are playing the Baltimore Ravens for a spot in the Superbowl and I don't want to jinx it. I'm nervous about the game and being somewhat superstitious I've been wearing either a Patriots sweatshirt or a Patriots t-shirt every day for two weeks. Hey, don't judge me. Like they say in the commercial, it's only weird if it doesn't work!
Thanks for stopping by!
...and that's why I don't sew on my cards. Well, that and the fact that I can't even thread the machine. ;) I think it's cute and admire your fussy cutting skills.
ReplyDeleteYour Patriots mauled my Texans twice this season, so go Ravens!
Jen, I think, firstly please change your tops! And secondly this card is gorgeous, I like your take on the sketch, the little bird looks perfect and great to see not 4 of the same. I would be not so happy with the wooden stamp, such a pain! Good luck at the game.
ReplyDeleteLove that little hummingbird, Jen!
ReplyDeleteOH this card is so sweet! I love what you did with the colors and the sketch! The little bird is perfect!
ReplyDeleteNo need to sleep on this one, it's wonderful!!! The Melon Mambo strip sown the center is fantastic! So glad you played along with us in this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card Jen, I love the strip down the center.
ReplyDeleteI promise not to judge you, Jen. I don't know if the Patriots won or not, but I do know what happened in the 49er/Atlanta game, which I won't say in case you don't want me to tell you. I'm not a football person, but since we live in the Bay Area, it is very exciting for ALL Bayarians this year just to have the 49ers in the Playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your stupid card and your stupid wooden stamp. I hate it when that happens! I sure hope your Pats won, hon!
Thank you for your sweet anni wishes for me and the Mister!!
(You know, of course, that your card is adorable and not stupid!)
I think your card is very pretty! You can't love everything you make, I often find the cards that I'm not so sure on are the ones that everyone else loves... go figure. And as for the wooden stamp, easy fixed, you can make them into cling stamps, there should be a tutorial for it somewhere on youtube, you just need some 'EZ Mount', there you go, day fixed, lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!
Clever, clever - love the hummingbird and one of the elements being different! Thanks so much for playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch!
ReplyDeleteMight not be what you were going for but I still think it's awesome. Love the pink stripe down the centre and the cool use of the bird and flowers. Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love the use of all that kraft. Thanks for joining us at the CTD!
ReplyDeleteSimply perfect in every way. The colors are so bright and cheerful on the kraft. I love the tiny bright pink stripe down the middle! So glad to see you at CAS(E) this Sketch!
