As I sit here typing this, the snow is not-so-gently falling outside. I am in the middle a really big snow storm and, according to the weathermen, I am lucky enough to live in a little pocket of southeastern Massachusetts that is predicted to get about 15 or more inches of snow. This, of course, is great news if you like to ski, snowshoe or have a day or two off from school. For me I'll just be happy if I am able to dig my car out so that I can get to work on time. Wish me luck!
So as the snow was falling I got to work in my stamp room (a room I have been neglecting lately) and made a card for CAS(E) This Sketch, Color Throwdown, and One Layer Simplicity.
The challenge at One Layer Simplicity is to restock your stash. I always like to have cards on hand that have inspirational messages so I took the opportunity to make this card using a sentiment from a new stamp set that I got for Christmas. I had a hard time deciding which sentiment to use from this set (because there are a lot of great ones in it) before I realized that there was a bit of a connection between the "seize the day" sentiment and the clock (which I chose as a symbol of the passage of time to the new year).
By the time you read this the big snow storm is sure to be over and I will hopefully be happily ensconced at my desk at work. If you don't hear from me it may mean that I got lost in the snow and am now a human popsicle! Seriously, stay safe if you are anywhere in the path of this storm.
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Clockworks (SU); Words of Wisdom (Verve)
Paper: Neenah Solar White
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Into the Woods sequins (Lawn Fawn); Midnight Blend sequins, Winter Blend sequins (Avery Elle)
I live in the southeastern Mass. too and we're getting a lot of snow and wind gusts right now. A GREAT day to stay inside and craft!
