Freshly Made Sketches 185

Wednesday is definitely my favorite day of the week because I get to show off a new sketch from your friends at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our sketch is designed by the talented Cindy Hall.  I love her sketch because it's got lots of room for interpretation!

I hemmed and hawed a little bit on whether I wanted flowers for my focal point or butterflies.  As you can see flowers won!  One thing I didn't hesitate over was stamping my sentiment crooked.  I was so intent on getting the "smile" straight I failed to notice that I should have been looking at the "you make me" part instead.  I'm such an amateur!  And to make matters worse I wanted to use the colors of a particular color challenge but after I put this altogether I realized that I missed two of the colors.  TWO!  I think I need a nap!

My Freshly Made Sketches teamies obviously did not have the same kinds of problems as I did with their cards this week because they are GORGEOUS!  Be sure to check them out!  I hope to see you in the gallery this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Now you really shouldn't have mentioned that the sentiment is crooked as I hadn't picked up on it. So annoying when that happens isn't it?. As one who is not a fan of purple, I've realised I should use it with lots of white as you've done...it looks gorgeous, especially treated with the grey! No more floods here thank goodness..thank you for thinking of me!

  7. I love reading the story of how your cards came to be. You never fail to make me smile and, more often than not, nod my head in agreement because I've done the same things! This card, crooked sentiment or not, is fabulous and I love how you used stamped images for the horizontal banners.

  12. I just love the layered look to your card Jen! It's something I would love to do this successfully, however, when I try stamping different layers, it ends up looking like a dogs dinner ;( Thank you so much for your inspiration over at FMS! Hazel xx

  16. I stamp crooked so much that I just view that as normal. Didn't even notice until I read your post. ;) This is a super cute card and I'm glad the flowers won out.
