Tag You're It 36

Well all I can say is thank goodness it's Friday!  I went back to work this past Tuesday after two weeks off and boy did the week drag on.  I'm glad the weekend is just about here so I can relax!

And since it's Friday there's a new inspiration challenge at Tag You're It.  Our tag inspiration this week is designed by Joyce.

I am SO pleased at how my tag came out I can hardly contain myself!  I have long aspired to be a better card-maker by using many different techniques but the one thing that has eluded me the most is watercoloring.  A few months ago I bought some good quality watercolors but haven't really played with them all that much.  Joyce's tag inspired me to try to use them to color a sky for my cityscape.

At first it seemed like my watercoloring was going to look horrible as usual, but after it dried I actually liked what I had done.  Then I took a chance and flicked some water on it and was surprised that my little droplets gave this a bit of a bokeh look.  The only thing I don't like about this tag is the shape of the star.  I wanted a star with a shape that is traditionally seen for the Christmas season but this was the only shape I had.  Not exactly what I had in mind, but it will do!

At Tag You're It our talented design team has made some beautiful tags this week so be sure to check them out.  It's that time of year when you might need a tag or two for gift giving so we've got lots of inspiration for you!  Thanks for stopping by!

  3. No wonder you are pleased with this tag. It is fantastic. Love your cityscape silhouette with all those windows glowing with warm light. And, your water colored sky is gorgeous, and I do think that your water droplets look like real bokeh.

  8. I'm very intimidated by watercolors. I have a great set but when I use them it always looks like a mess to me. Your sky is beautiful and I really like the bokeh effect you got with the water droplets. Thanks so much for your visit and the lovely comment you left on my guestie tag. :-)
