Freshly Made Sketches 270!

Happy Wednesday!  The last two weeks were four-day work weeks for me because of the holidays and I think I could get used to that!  I'm only halfway through a regular five-day week and I'm already burnt out!  But luckily we've got a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches to cheer me up.  This week our hostess is Kim and she's given us such a creative sketch and I know you will love it.

There's an ombre challenge going on at Less is More and I thought that vertical layer was perfect for that.  I sat at my desk contemplating my inks and sponges and whether I could color a halfway decent ombre background.  But then I remembered that I had a stack of patterned paper with some ombre coloring and as luck would have it I found a scrap that was the perfect size for the sketch!  I arranged some intricate butterflies on that scrap, added a quick sentiment and I was done.  I love it when details come together without too much fuss!

Be sure to pop on over to Freshly Made Sketches and check out our latest challenge - the design team has really got some great ideas for this sketch!  I hope to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Such a pretty gradient, Jen. Those colors are soooo pretty, and the blue almost has a Parisian Breeze look, lol! Love those butterflies in black; they just pop! Wonderful card. Bev

  6. I love your ombre background for this! It's a fun twist to see the beautiful colors in the background as opposed to being in the butterflies. Such a pretty card, Jen!

  15. Mmmmmmmm. Eye candy for sure! That ombre background is blending perfection (love the colors, too), and the simple black silhouettes of the butterflies make it so clean. LOVE.
