CAS(E) This Sketch 265 Meets Fusion

Easter challenges abound this week so it was a no brainer to dig out an old set from my stash with a bunny on it and put it to work for the CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion challenges.

I rotated the sketch and a bunny became my circle.  :)  I've actually seen a few wreaths at TJ Maxx and Marshalls that are very similar to that bunny one in the Fusion inspiration and I've been tempted to buy one!  But for now I have to be satisfied with my floppy eared bunny!  There's an Easter challenge at Global Design Project so this fits right in there.

Thanks for stopping by!  There are some great cards to inspire you over at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion so I hope to see you in one (or both) of those galleries.

Freshly Made Sketches 330

It's officially spring so I thought I would make a big ol' flower card for the new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess this week is Jen Brum and she's given us a classic sketch with lots of room for interpretation.

How about a gerbera daisy for the focal point?  I love to use these daisy dies when I need a big focal image.  The flower is so pretty - those layers are to-do-die-for!  The colors for this card come from the latest challenge at Sunday Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by.  The inspiration from our Freshly Made Sketches design team will make you want to play along with us!  I hope to see you in the gallery!

Supplies
Stamps:  Everyday Mini Sentiments (Whimy Stamps)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Marina Mist, Bashful Blue (Stampin' Up!); Daisy (Avery Elle)
Ink:  White (WPlus9)
Accessories:  Gerbera Daisy die (My Favorite Things); white embossing powder

Love the Life You Live

It's been a long time since I've played along with the Color Throwdown and Match the Sketch challenges.  But as soon as I saw their new ones this week light bulbs went off in my head and I carved out some time to play along with them.

I do love a color combo that is black, white, and something.  In this case the something is pink and pink makes a delightful dragonfly as it turns out!  I love all that white space.  I was tempted, for a moment, to add a few dew drops but resisted - wisely, I might add - because I think the crisp, plain background is perfect the way it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies
Stamps:  Posted Note Sentiments (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Blushing Bride, Vellum (Stampin' Up!); Black Licorice (My Favorite Things)
Ink:  Onyx Black (Versafine)
Accessories:  Fishtail Flags Layer STAX (My Favorite Things); Libellules die (4enscrap)

CAS(E) This Sketch 264

It's Thursday so that means it's time for a new sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.  The horizontal blocks put me in mind of my brick wall stencil.

Sometimes uber CAS is just what the doctor ordered.  Here I was helped along by the AAA Cards challenge to use just one third of the card front.  I chose to use green as my accent color so I could play along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  And head on over to CAS(E) This Sketch to see the amazing cards from the design team.  I hope you can play along with us!

Supplies
Stamps:  Totally Awesome (Essentials by Ellen)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Old Olive (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Old Olive (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories:  Mini Bricks stencil (The Crafters Workshop); Positive Word die (Essentials by Ellen); white embossing paste (Dreamweaver)

Freshly Made Sketches 329

Maybe you've heard of the adage that March "comes in like a lion and out like a lamb."  Well, that is certainly true for 2018 in my neck of the woods.  Today we've got another nor'easter bearing down on us.  I think this is the fourth or fifth this month.  (I've lost count).  And this just 21 days into March.  The good news is that it looks like we might be spared a lot of snow, but enough already.  It's been a cold and dreary month and although the calendar says "spring" the reality is anything but.  Bring on spring!

But enough about my weather woes.  It's Wednesday so there's a new sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our  sketch designer is Kim and I love her classic sketch.

My colors come from Just Us Girls and I just would like to point out that behind that chocolate banner is a layer of vellum that stretches the full width of the card.  It's hard to see in the photo but it's subtle and pretty in real life.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out the inspiration from our always-amazing Freshly Made Sketches design team and join us in the gallery!

Birthday Butterfly

For once in a really long time I have created a card just for fun!  No DT card challenges here - I've made a card just because I wanted to...

I was inspired by the colors at TGIF and my layout comes from Fab Friday.  Butterflies are a favorite of mine and I've been neglecting them this long, cold winter.  Since spring officially starts today I thought it would be nice to make a card featuring a butterfly to welcome the season.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper:   Soft Stone (Papertrey Ink): Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Whiper White, Vellum (Stampin' Up!)

CAS(E) This Sketch 263 Meets Fusion

I saw sparkles when I saw the latest sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch!  I paired some sparkly tape with some gold washi to create a couple of horizontal layers then added a round element with a sentiment stamped inside.

As I do every couple of weeks I combine a CAS(E) This Sketch with a Fusion challenge and this time around I used a couple of colors from the Fusion challenge as well as a "friends" theme.  The vertical layers are made with washi tape and the sentiment is layerd on a couple of scallop circles.  I love how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope we'll see you in the CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion galleries!

Paper:  Solar White (Neenah)
Ink:  Jet Black (Altenew)

I can hardly believe it's Wednesday again!  But here we are with a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch is brought to you by Linda - who is currently buried under many, many, many inches of snow.

Pets!  That's the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations so I just had to play along.  I've got a kitty or two in my house and I've also got one or two kitty stamp sets in my stash.  I chose this fun image from Tim Holtz and gave her a pink diamond background.  Meow.  That says it all!

Thanks for visiting.  Our Freshly Made Sketches design team has got some great cards to inspire you this week.  I hope you'll join us in the gallery!

CAS(E) This Sketch 262

Ok, so I wanted a good CAS card for this week's entry in our newest challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.  A little background, a big sentiment and I was done.  I love it when an idea comes to fruition so easily!

The monochrome challenge at Less Is More fit into my plans perfectly so I made this card using the same shade of ink and cardstock against a white background.

My CAS(E) This Sketch teamies have some amazing cards to inspire you to join our challenge this week so be sure to check them out.  We hope to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches 327

And so we begin our new sketches for March at Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm your hostess this week (always a nail-biter) and we also welcome a new guest designer who is joining us for the month.  I'm sure you all know who she is.....Claire Apostoloff from Life on the Scrap Heap

It's been a wild and wooly week here in Massachusetts.  A nor'easter (that's New England lingo for really bad storm) decided to plunk itself right off shore and bring with it lots of rain and very high winds.  I lost electricity from Friday until Sunday morning and I can tell you it was quite cold in my house with no heat.  I was afraid I would actually have to miss the challenge this week.  But luckily the linesman came from far and wide (I saw some trucks from Quebec) and they worked really hard to get the power back up.   There are still some folks with no power but I think they are really close to getting power online.

I opted to try my hand at the eclectic color challenge at Fab Friday.  I wasn't quite sure how to work in the Pool Party and chose this flourish die cut and some enamel dots.  I love how it turned out!  I used my fancy new Brother Scan N' Cut to cut out the flowers and leaves and I've got to say I'm loving that thing!

Well that's it for me.  Another nor'easter is coming my way today but luckily this time I'm only supposed to be getting some rain and light snow.  That's good news for the folks along the coast who were hit especially hard by the storm last week.

Stop on by Freshly Made Sketches and check out the inspiration from the design team.  I can't wait to see how you all interpret my sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) This Sketch 261 Meets Fusion

Happy March 1st!  This long cold winter is almost over - I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  But you know what they say about March:  in like a lion, out like a lamb.  I'm praying that the lion stays out of sight!

I've got a couple of new challenges to share with you today.  A sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and some inspiration from Fusion.  Funny how these two meet up so perfectly!

What a cheeky fellow he is wanting a big ol' smooch!  St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner so I thought it would be fun to play along with these challenges with my one and only leprechaun stamp.  I used my brand-spanking-new Brother Scan N Cut to cut him out and then colored him up.  Easy peasy!  I've had these stamps for ages and have no idea what they are called.  The Leprechaun is from Inkadinkado and the "kiss me" sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michael's (I think).

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a chance to play along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion.   Both design teams have made some fantastic cards to inspire you!

Supplies
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Mint Julep, Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
