It's Wednesday so it's time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week Karren is our hostess and her sketch is classic!
I had SO much trouble with this sketch! All that wide open space had me stumped until I saw the current challenge at Muse. I liked how Anita framed her card with floral images so I attempted to recreate that with these lilies. The vertical layer was done with vellum. I'm not crazy about this card. The lilies look a bit like fireworks to me!
My Freshly Made Sketches teammates have made some fantastic cards with this sketch so be sure to check them out. We hope to see you in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies
Stamps: Layered Lily (Altenew); Celebrate Big (My Favorite Things)
Paper: White (Gina K); Vellum (Stampin' Up!)s
Ink: Jet Black (Stazon); Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Grapevine (Altenew)
Accessories: rhinestones (KaiserCraft)
I like the way you've used the white space! Terrific card Jen!
ReplyDeleteYour Lilies are so pretty and your color palette is stunning, Jen! I also love your sentiment...it pairs perfectly with the sketch and with Anita's inspiration card!
ReplyDeleteFireworks or lilies....either way the color is perfect for a celebration! Happy card!
ReplyDeleteThis card is so pretty Jen! I love those flowers and your big sentiment! Love how you've stamped on vellum too!! It doesn't look like you had any trouble at all with this card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Jen!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely take on Anita's card. The flowers are so pretty in those pinks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. I really love how you scattered those beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteLoving your interpretation with lilies. And the bold sentiments looks awesome on the torn vellum overlay. You should love this card, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along at Muse, Anita x
Yay! Jen! Feel like we haven't seen you for a while -so glad you're back! Love the dimension in these flowers! Thanks for joining us at Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteThis gorgeous card doesn't look like it gave you any grief, but I can totally relate the struggling with a card design - I made a card on the weekend that took me 3 hours! Yes, 3 hours!!! And there's not even anything special about it. But I digress. Those vibrant flowers really pop against the white space and the vellum is the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jen, love the flower you have used. Altenew really produces some stunning stamps. The colours you used perfect together.
ReplyDeleteOh wow - this card is awesomely gorgeous! Those flowers are just stunning and the vellum sentiment is so striking!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like fireworks too! And I love this.... Typical when we don't like our own cards, they are a hit with others. Pretty colors!!
