CAS(E) This Sketch 378 Meets Fusion

Hey all.  It's Thursday and it's time for me to combine the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch with the inspiration at Fusion

I loved the bright colors in the Fusion pic so I chose to pick up the blue, yellow, and green I saw.  I think my bright yellow flower really pops against that gingham background!  And since the challenge at The Paper Players this week is clean and simple thanks I think I'll play along over there too!.

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow teammates at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion have got some great cards to inspire you to play along so be sure to check them out!

Freshly Made Sketches 441

Summer is in full swing here.  The sun is shining, the weather is hot, and the vegetable garden is growing.  So, of course, this put me in mind of snowflakes for my Freshly Made Sketches card this week!  LOL!  Our hostess is Judy and that big ol' circle is what made me think of the snowflakes.

I went with a white on white card even though I have such trouble photographing those!  But the snowflakes look so pretty layered in white.  I used some sparkly paper and some sparkly vellum to cut them and layered them against a falling snow background.  Even I love a good snowflake - as long as it is a feature on a card.  And they are especially easy to take when it's 90-degrees outside!  At Christmas Card Throwdown they are looking for snowflakes so I'm playing along there as well.

CAS(E) This Sketch 377

Hey all!  We've got a new challenge for you at CAS(E) This Sketch.

This card was actually super easy to make.  Using the colors from Sunday Stamps and an old die from Spellbinders I created this birthday card.  Those blues were perfect for a beautiful hydrangea and a pop of color from the red sentiment finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out the amazing cards made by my fellow CAS(E) This Sketch teammates.  I hope you'll join us in the gallery!

Supplies
Stamps:  Delightful Dahlia Additions (Papertrey Ink); Scripty Sayings (Gina K Designs)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:   Carribbean Sky, Parisian Blue, Sapphire, Ruby Red (Altenew)
Accessories:  Labels Two die (Spellbinders)

Freshly Made Sketches 440

Here we are again with a brand new challenge from Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our hostess is Amy and her design put me in mind of an old favorite - poinsettias.

I think it's been a while since I've made a Christmas card and seeing as how 2020 is almost half over I figured I'd better get a move on.  Of course, 2020 is a year like no other so it's probably OK that I'm a little off.

The colors at The Paper Players seemed perfect for my little poinsettias.  And full disclosure - the green I used might be Tranquil Tide but I'm really not sure.  As I was rooting around in my stash of cardstock I came across this random piece - it might actually be the only one I have - that seemed to match the color.  I used vellum for the shape in the middle and stamped the sentiment right across it.

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow Freshly Made Sketches teammates have made some fantastic cards to inspire you to play along with us.  I hope you'll join us in the gallery!

CAS(E) This Sketch 376 Meets Fusion

I'm a bit late but today I've actually did get my DT card made for my combination of CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion!  Work is crazy and sometimes causes what I like to call Pandemic Pandemonium - so every so often it causes me to post my projects a bit late.  I'm so lucky that my fellow DT members put up with my shenanigans!

For this card I went with a circle die that I haven't used in ages - it punches wee circles so I adhered some colored cardstock behind the circles so the color would show through.  Then I added a pretty butterfly and a slim layer on which I stamped my sentiment.  Oops!  The sentiment was supposed to go above that layer.  I need to pay better attention to the sketch :(

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow teammies at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion have made some fantastic cards so I hope you check them out!

Freshly Made Sketches 439

Hey there!  We've got a great new sketch for you this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess this week is Narelle - who has this amazing knack for combining tons of layers while still making cards that have a clean and simple feel.  I don't know how she does it!  For my card, though, I stuck with just a few layers to keep that CAS look!

I bought these wonky square dies ages ago and this is the first time I've used them.  I don't know whether that means I buy things I shouldn't or that I have amazing foresight because I buy things months before I actually need them!  In any event, they are perfect for this sketch.  So that I could play along with the Allsorts Challenge of "lots of yellow" I used used yellow for the squares and a small yellow flower for an accent.  I love the easy peasy cards!

Thanks for stopping by!  Play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

CAS(E) This Sketch 375

Our new challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch had me reaching for a couple of my favorite stamp sets.  I only recently bought these sets, but they have fast become faves, so I find myself using them again and again.

I'm sure the technique that I did has a name but I don't know what it is.  So I call it I stamped some images on two different pieces of cardstock, cut a rectangle out of one of them, and popped it up on the other one.  For those vertical layers on the sketch I substituted a fancy shape in vellum then overlaid a birthday sentiment strip on top.

The vellum idea came from the latest AAA Birthday challenge which then obliged me to add a birthday sentiment.  My birthday card stash is running low so I took that as a sign that I was on the right track!

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow teammates at CAS(E) This Sketch have made some great cards to inspire you to play along with us.

Freshly Made Sketches 438

We've got a great new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our challenge hostess this week is Karren and her sketch was perfect for me to use some of the patterned paper in my stash.

I already had patterned paper in my mind for those vertical stripes when I stumbled upon the challenge at Just Us Girls which was to use at least two different patterned papers.  Obviously that was a sign that I was on the right path!  I dug into my stash of old papers and found some that managed to fit the colors of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge.  A butterfly took the place of the diamond on the sketch and I embossed the bottom solid layer of that butterfly to give it some texture.  I added a few little pearls just because it looked pretty!

Thanks for stopping by!  We'd love it if you joined us at Freshly Made Sketches!
