Hello JUGS281 and rs154

I'm in the middle of doing housework (blech) and needed a little break so I thought I'd pop in here and show you a card I made using the colors at Just Us Girls and the sketch from retro sketches.

I just love a square card.  Too bad they cost extra to mail.  I usually try to keep mine 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 so I can still fit them in an A2 envelope and avoid the surcharge but my favorite size is about a half inch bigger.

It's been a while since I used this whimsical flower and it somehow seemed appropriate for this fun layout.  I scribbled on it with some colored pencils but I couldn't seem to get the color as dark as I wanted to I ended up going over some areas with my Regal Rose marker.  I love the scribbled look of these flowers.

Well that's it for me.  Back to vacuuming for a bit then I'm off to the grocery store.  I wish the weekends weren't so jam packed with chores!  Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches 136

Hey, hey happy Wednesday!  Today at Freshly Made Sketches our hostess is Amy.  If you don't know her I suggest popping on over to her blog to see her beautiful cards.  She's got a wonderful sense of color, her designs are so fresh and her cards always make me smile!  Her sketch this week is eye-poppingly good and I can't wait to see your creations light up the gallery!

I know I've been using washi tape a lot lately, but that is not washi tape on my card!  I've got some MFT dies that resemble ripped washi tape so I stamped some patterns then die cut the "tape" out of them (using the colors from The Paper Players, by the way).  I stamped a funky flower, a little texture and I was done!

Don't forget to pop on over to Freshly Made Sketches and check out our newest challenge.  The design team have got some great cards to show you too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches 132

I'm pretty sure that this weeks sketch for Freshly Made Sketches designed by Jen Brum is going to make for a very interesting and eclectic gallery. I know when I saw it I thought about adding layers of stamped images rather than layers of paper and I had a lot of fun while doing it.  So I image there's lots of ways you will interpret this sketch.

The colors from the latest challenge at The Paper Players gave me some license to add very different stamped images for my "any shape" part of the card.  I love it when I can blend colors like these with such different images.  And I just had to ink up this bold sentiment from my brand new Winnie & Walter set.  Where have these stamps been all my life?

It's been like a typhoon here lately with some high winds that I can't help dreading that this spring will be awful on the heels of the awful winter we had.  And we were doing so well with the sunny skies and lovely warm temperatures :(

As always, the Freshly Made Sketches design team has got some amazing cards to show you to get your creative juices flowing.  So don't be shy - check them out!

Freshly Made Sketches 129

Hello hello!!  Today I'm the hostess at Freshly Made Sketches and as per our usual, the sketch is fresh and clean!  Of course there's lots of room to let your creativity soar and I can't wait to see how you interpret the sketch.  On my card I inked up some new Jofy stamps that have been on my wish list since I spotted them ages ago.  I stumbled across a retailer in the US who sells them and snatched up a few sets.

My card is further inspired by the gorgeous card Lyndal Higgins has created for inspiration at Muse.  The beautiful shades of blue combined with the pop of yellow inspired me to dig out my Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse and Vellum.  I colored the images with pencils and I love how it turned out.

ETA:  And thanks to Cornelia who pointed out to me that the button on my card qualifies me for the CAS challenge at House of Cards.  Thanks Cornelia!

You have GOT to check out the cards the amazing Freshly Made Sketches design team has created with my sketch.  They will blow you away!  I can't tell you how fortunate I am to be a part of this group who inspire me so much every day.  And I'm quite sure they inspire you too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardabilities 95 and Dynamic Duos 95

I'm back from my recent Scottish adventure and figured I better get back into my craft room before I forgot how to make a card!  Cardabilities is on sketch 95 and coincidentally Dynamic Duos is on their 95th challenge too so I thought that was a very good reason to put them together.

Cardabilities sketches always make me wish I was a different kind of card-maker.  While I tend to a more clean and simple style their sketches make me want to grunge and layer it all up!  I did a little bit of that here with some sponged and stamped images plus some added leaf and butterfly dies.

I feel like I'm all turned around since I got home from my trip.  Yesterday I basically got nothing done except a quick trip to the grocery store.  Today I've got to get my act together and then it's back to work tomorrow.  It's so hard to come back to reality after vacation!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Take Note (Verve); Stitched Together (Close to My Heart); JM16 (Jofy)
Paper:  Classic White (Flourishes); Neenah Solar White; Rich Razzleberry (SU); Lavender Moon (Papertrey Ink)
Ink:  Soft Sky, Rich Razzleberry (SU)
Accessories:  Dot Fade stencil (Tim Holtz); Lorelai Leaf die, Lorelai Outline Leaf die (Poppystamps); Leanna Butterfly die (Simon Says Stamp); Banner Trio die (WPlus9); Metallic Art pencils (SU)
