Hello! We've got another great challenge for you at Freshly Made Sketches. Our hostess this week is Jen Brum and she really got me thinking about that flag....
Luckily I had a fun stamp in my stash that approximated the look of that flag. So armed with some purple inks (I have a sister who is crazy about purple) I inked the flag, some flowers, and some leaves in varying shades of purple. Cute! I hope that Jen forgives me for the placement of my flowers and leaves (the circle on the sketch) - they are a little off per the sketch!
My purple-loving sister will get this card in the mail soon! And the inspiration for the purple came from the latest challenge at Color Dare.
Thanks for stopping by! My fellow teammates at Freshly Made Sketches have made some lookers this week so be sure to check them out. 😀See you in the gallery!
Supplies
Stamps: Brushed Off, Keep It Simple Just a Note (Papertrey Ink); Summer Silhouettes (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultraviolet, Andromeda (Altenew)

CAS(E) This Sketch 255 and Fusion
My card today is a perfect blend of sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and theme from Fusion. I'm excited to say that I'm joining the design team at Fusion and today is my first official post!
The theme at Fusion is coffee and a book so I took up the coffee theme. I had this great stamp with coffee splatters that was perfect for the horizontal layer a-la the sketch. I added the coffee cup and a simple sentiment and I was done. Easy peasy!
Thanks for stopping by. There is amazing inspiration at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion so I hope you can play along with us at either (or both)!
Supplies
Stamps: Ink Splats (IndigoBlu); Latte Love (Stamplorations); Everyday Mini Sentiments (Whimsy Stamps)
Paper: Classic Ivory (Flourishes)
Ink: Cocoa Bean (Papertrey Ink); Jet Black (Altenew); Prismacolor Pencils

CAS(E) This Sketch 252
It's our last challenge of 2017 at CAS(E) This Sketch. And hang on to your hats folks because this one will really get your creative juices flowing!
I figured that using patterned paper for all those rectangles would be a good idea. So I went into my stash and grabbed the first pack of Stampin' Up! DSP I could find and started cutting. I knew that the patterns in it would be complementary but different enough to give this an eclectic design. Fun!
My teammates at CAS(E) This Sketch have created some super creative cards so be sure to check them out. This is a two week challenge so there's lots of time to play along!
Supplies
Stamps: Keep it Simple: Just a Note (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah); Twitterpated (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Jet Black (Altenew)

Freshly Made Sketches 292
We had a little heat wave earlier this week. It had been 90+ degrees since Sunday and I loved it! I was built to live in a hot climate but for some reason I got stuck in a place where it's hot only for part of the year. I'll have to remedy that some day!
But on to bigger and better things. Today is Wednesday so that means we've got a brand new challenge for you at Freshly Made Sketches. Our friend across the pond, Cécile, has give us a fantastic graphic sketch. I can't wait to see the gallery light up with your designs!
I used these dotted circles in ever darker shades of purple (hope you can see the big one, it's a bit light in the pic). I chose this color for no other reason that I just got the ink pads and I wanted to take them for a test run! This is an uber CAS one layer card and I love how it came out.
My Freshly Made Sketches fellow teamies have cooked up some great cards for you this week. I loved seeing how everyone interpreted the sketch. I hope you can join us in the gallery!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies
Stamps: Halftone Circles (Altenew); Keep it Simple: Just a Note (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: White (Spectrum Noir)
Ink: Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Jet Black (Altenew)

Just a Note
Spring has definitely sprung around these parts. Last week was nothing but miserable rain but this week the forecast is nothing but glorious sunshine and warmer than normal temperatures. I plan to take advantage of this good weather and go for a walk on my lunch-hour each day. A half hour walk with the sun on my face is just the thing to put me in a great mood!
And speaking of spring, the colors this week at Color Throwdown were definitely inspired by the season. I combined them with the sketch at Fab Friday to create a fun floral card.
It's been a while since I've used these funky floral stamps and I forgot how much I love them! They may not be elegant like the tulips in the inspiration photo but they have a fun, whimiscal look that I love. I paired them with a simple sentiment in a no-nonsense font and a bit of washi tape. I stuck on a couple of enamel dots to take up some of that white space too.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies
Stamps: Funky Florals, Keep It Simple: Just a Note (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah); Pool Party, Wild Wasabi (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: enamel dots (Studio Calico)
