Merry Monday 127

I have been a bad stamper because I've been neglecting my stamp room all week!  One thing after another prevented me from getting in there and doing anything productive but Sunday I marched myself in there, sat down and made three cards!

The first is a card for the Merry Monday challenge where Kathy has given us a little Christmas Bingo where we get to choose the elements we want.  I went diagonal and chose Sparkle, Ribbon or Twine, and Buttons or Brads.

Now, you're going to have to believe me when I say that there is sparkle on this card because I know it doesn't show up in the photo.  The "merry" was die cut from some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper which is just chock full of sparkle but sadly you can't see it.  And to make matters worse, I stamped the sentiment in white pigment ink then embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and all that shimmer doesn't really show up either.

Over at As You See It there was a great sketch so I used that as my layout.  It had a nice CAS look and I thought the bottom of the sketch would be a great place to showcase the "merry" die cut.

The Merry Makers over at Merry Monday have some beautiful cards to show you so make sure you check them out.  I hope to see you in the gallery this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Good Tidings

I don't know why but I obsessed over this card for way too long.  I finally just decided to post it and move on.

This is my somewhat liberal take on the Deconstructed Sketch using colors from the Festive Friday challenge.  I wanted to use stamps to mimic the flags in the sketch so I grabbed some of my favorite textural stamps, added the sentiment, some washi and sequins and thought I was done.  But then I realized that I missed the little circle element on the sketch so I went back and added a snowflake.  I still wasn't happy though.  There wasn't really anything festive about my card, an essential element of the Festive Friday challenge.  So I put it aside and went to bed.

By the time I got back in my stamp room I had spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about this card.  In order to add the festive I pulled apart a bunch of stuff, added a Christmas tree shape and a star.  I'm still not entirely happy with it, but it is what it is!

Lots of rain yesterday (yuck).  The weeds are going crazy in the garden and I've no time to pull them out.  Should be a fun adventure out there when the sun comes out!  Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ 220

I have been slightly disorganized this holiday season.  I only just got my Christmas cards in the mail and now at this late date I've turned my attention to gift tags.  And although the colors this week at colourQ don't exactly scream Christmas, I think they say "out of the box Christmas" so I used them to create this tag.

The challenge this week at Sketch Saturday was to pick any one of their sketches after #215.  I chose #217 and adapted it to make a tag instead of a card.

Now it's your turn to take these colors and create something for the colourQ challenge.  The design team has got some great cards to inspire you so don't forget to check them out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace, Love and Joy

I was hunkered down in my stamp room working on some projects when I was suddenly struck by an idea for a card using the latest CAS(E) This Sketch.  So I did what any good paper-crafter would do - I dropped everything and worked on that card before I forgot what I wanted to do!

I used a bunch of new stuff on this card.  It had been quite a while since I had any new Christmas stamps so this year I kind of went overboard and bought a whole bunch.  I'm not even sure that I'll get a chance to use them all this season, but I've got a new resolution to not be so far behind on my Christmas cards next year so I'm hopeful all my new stuff will see ink over the coming months!

I hope everyone was safe in the crazy Black Friday crowds and got lots of bargains this past weekend!  Don't forget that today is Cyber Monday so there's still lots more to buy!
