Hello! Wednesday is, of course, Freshly Made Sketches day around here and this week our hostess is Rita. Her sketch is both a great way to use up some patterned paper scraps and also a great way to think outside the box when contemplating those rectangles! Here's my card:
I had been thinking about making a 4th of July card for a while and last week attempted one for this very same challenge but failed miserably. So this week I tried it again and I love how it came out. I stamped all the images onto a rectangular piece of card stock then cut it vertically and took out a small sliver to make a little void between the pieces. I love that look but don't ask me to explain why!
Coincidentally the challenge at Retro Rubber is 4th of July too so I'll be adding this over there. The stamps I used have been in my stash for a while, but maybe not a year as they like to see, so I dug out my crimper for one of the layers. Nothing says early 21st century like a crimper I like to say!
Once again the design team at Freshly Made Sketches will knock your socks off with their interpretations of this sketch. I hope you check them out and join us in the gallery! We love to see you there!
Thanks for stopping by!

Perfect card for this week!i love ha you carried the scene over two panels! Cool look! Can't believe still the three of us managed to pull off a,get together but it was great seeing you again!
This is star spangled Jen, festive and FUN!!
What a great idea to split the image over two panels - I just love that look! Your card is perfect!
A really lovely design! Thanks so much for doing the challenge!
Gorgeous holiday card, Jen! Love that scene split with the color underneath. The SU button (have loads of those) with baker's twine really completes the crimped area. Thanks so much for including Retro Rubber in your stamping fun this week! Happy 4th!
What a great way to create a card to the sketch. I like the little gap too. Thanks for adding the crimper touch, we had that as a challenge a while back at Retro Rubber, and they are fun to pull out and all a little texture. Lovely job! Thanks for joining us at RRBC!
Wowsa! What a beautiful card! I love those stamps! And it took a bit for me to realize that you split the design! Love that! And you used a crimper! Yay! That was one of our earlier challenges! Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber! Be sure to play along again soon!!
Awesome card, Jen. I love that you did a full panel and then cut it down. I love that look too! :)
I LOVE the clever way you divided that top panel Jen . . . inspired! Thanks for the inspiration at FMS! Have a lovely weekend! Hazel xx
I love the split image look too...and this one is particularly wonderful. What great card! Hope your 4th was great!
A fabulous card indeed! I love those fireworks! Love the enamel dots! Hope you had a great 4th!
I love the stamp set you used! I'm not sure if it's a two-step set or if you hand colored the fireworks, but I love the results! Love the crimped piece, too!
So very festive and fun!
Oh, this is so fabulous and fun!
