Top o' the morning to you! There's a whole lotta green this week at colourQ. Just in time for St. Patrick's day! A funny thing happened to me on my way to making my card for this weeks colourQ challenge. More on that later.
I made a cursory check around my stamp room for some leprechauns or four leaf clovers or some other image that conjured up St. Patrick's day but came up empty. So I opted for the next best thing: a bit of grunge and a butterfly!
The sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches provided my layout, although it's a bit of a stretch and I'll understand completely if the design team over there kick me out of the gallery. The dripping paint background stamp is meant to be the square on the sketch and the butterfly is, well, a super awesome focal point on any card!
I sat down at my desk on Sunday to make my card for this week's colourQ challenge and I had a fantastic idea in mind using a certain sketch and another challenge where the focus was supposed to be the sentiment. My card came together quickly and I was so happy. Then I started to write up the cheat sheet that I use when I write my blog post that lists the supplies, challenges, and other details about the card. That's when I realized that the colors I used were for NEXT week's colourQ challenge! Duh! So back to the drawing board I went to whip up something made entirely of green! The good news is that I'm a week ahead. That never happens to me!
There are some very lovely monochromatic green cards from the colourQ design team this week so be sure to check them out. I hope to see you in the gallery!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stunning card! I always love butterflies too. Thanks for playing along at CC&S.
Am I being particularly dim Jen, every time I click on the link to the ColourQ challenge, I keep ending up on the challenge for #332? I have tried to find it by going to the home page first, I have tried, clicking on Joyce's link too, but I still end up on challenge #332? What am I doing wrong please? Hazel xx

Fabulous card!
Wonderful card! I love the collage feel and the way you did the butterfly. Thanks for sharing with us at CC&S!
Love that paint splat!! This is such a great card Jen! Love your story on being a week ahead since you made the card using next week's colors. I did exactly that a couple of weeks ago!! Felt like a nut, then felt great to be ahead LOL!!
Such a beautiful delicate butterfly against the paint splat, Jen!!!! Love the green frame on the outside!!!! So beautiful!!!!
Have a great day!!!
Jen, we would NEVER "kick you out" of our gallery! It's always a delight to see you join in our challenges at CC&S! :)
The grungy background is a really cool contrast to the delicate, lovely butterfly. I don't usually think of greens as butterfly colors, but you've shown that they can be a terrific choice. Thanks so much for making CC&S part of your crafting fun this week!
Jen - I have to say that I for one am glad that you didn't find any leprechauns or four leaf clovers, this card is a delight. Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Liz x
Funny story about this card, Jen. I must confess that it has happened to me also. Love your grungy square, and that butterfly is awesome.
Funny story - I did that with this week's FMS card - made it a couple of weeks ago then realised I was ahead of myself. Talk about panic! Your card looks beautiful - wonderful way to use those greens.
This is just dreamy. Such a gorgeous CASs card, it looks fabulous in the gallery! Thanks for sharing with us at CC&S
