colourQ 336!

Tuesday again and it's time for a new challenge at colourQ.  This week our colors are bold and bright and perfect for spring.  Ironically, after a very warm February and March I thought for sure that spring had sprung a bit early in these parts.  Then April showed up and brought some snow.  Snow!  Can you believe it?  The only good thing about snow in April is that is disappears quickly, but still...I wish we didn't have it at all.  But anyway, on to my card and this week's inspiration photo.

The challenge at Sketch Saturday had a layout that was perfect for a subway style sentiment so I grabbed this stamp set that I haven't used in a long time.  Some bright flowers and a patterned paper background and I was done.  Easy peasy!

That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the inspiration at colourQ!.  I hope to see you in the gallery!

Supplies
Stamps:  Summer Silhouettes (SU); Subway Series Basics (Fresh Squeezed Stamps)
Paper:  Sweet Tooth (My Favorite Things); Black (Simon Says Stamp); Lucky Limeade (SU); Adorbs (My Mind's Eye)
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie (SU); Onyx Black (Versafine)

colourQ 237 and Seize the Sketch 18

Hello, hello!  It's Tuesday so that means the big reveal of a new colour palette at colourQ and a new sketch from Seize the Sketch.  This week Arielle has found color inspiration in this gorgeous bag and our sketch is designed by Jessica!  So let's get to it.

I dipped into my very precious supply of Walk in the Park DSP for this card.  There's no sense having all this pretty paper if I can't show it off every so often (is what I said to myself as I put the paper under the knife).  Seriously, I've been on a mission to use up my existing stash of patterned paper FOREVER and I think it must be secretly multiplying when I'm not looking because I don't feel like I'm all that much closer to seeing the end of it.  So using a treasured bit of paper is really no hardship.  Not. At. All.

I took an inordinately long time arranging the white thread on my card.  I wanted it to appear like it randomly appeared and was not contrived in any way, which is actually harder than it looks.  I think I fiddled with it for about 10 minutes before I was satisfied that it didn't look like I spent 10 minutes fiddling with it.

So you know the drill.  My stamping friends at both colourQ and Seize the Sketch would love it if you joined us for these challenges.  Just hop on over to the blogs to check out the details.  And while you're there I guarantee that you will be awed and amazed at the cards the design teams have created.  See you in the gallery!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Subway Series:  Basics (Fresh Squeezed Stamps)
Paper:  Basic Gray, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Walk in the Park DSP (SU)
Ink:  Basic Gray, Peach Parfait (SU)
Accessories:  Vertical Greetings II die (My Favorite Things); My Girl enamel dots (My Mind's Eye)

Freshly Made Sketches 104

It's time for the new sketch reveal at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week Linda Suarez is our hostess and if you love the banner and flag trend  you're going to love it!  Take a peek.

Now, before you think I am totally off my rocker you will notice that I did not, in fact, use a banner on my card.  This is not due to my rebellious nature but rather because I was not paying proper attention when I made this card.  I just got this new subway style stamp and thought it would be perfect for this sketch.  So I'm busy stamping away fully intending to put this sentiment layer onto another layer shaped like the banner in the sketch.  Well, as luck would have it, there was no room to fit it.  I should have rotated the sketch and started over but I had already stuck down the DSP layer and since this is my precious Kiwi Kiss card stock I didn't want to run the risk of ruining everything by prying it apart.  I'm pretty sure that Linda will be okay with this because I have it on good authority that we're pretty flexible at Freshly Made Sketches!

As always our amazing Freshly Made Sketches design team have got some pretty fantastic cards to show you this week.  I sure hope you can join us in the gallery this week!
