CAS(E) This Sketch 206!

I just checked the calendar and sure enough it's Thursday.  This week is just whizzing by!  And I don't usually say that about weeks when I'm at work!  But Thursday also means it's time for a new challenge from your friends at CAS(E) This Sketch.  So here goes:

For a brief moment I thought about sticking with the inspiration on the sketch and using a bird on my card - but then I came across this cute stamp set full of monsters and knew that would be way more fun!  I grabbed some blue and purple pencils and colored him a-la the challenge at Can You Case It then added some silver embossing paste through a dotted stencil.  I have no idea what occasion I would use this card for but I love the sentiment.  One day I hope I'll find the perfect person to send it to!

CAS(E) This Sketch 2

Another dreary weekend is on tap so I'd like to hunker down in my stamp room.  Unfortunately, I've actually got a major systems upgrade going on at work so I'll be doing some testing from home and in between the conference calls I hope I can get some productive stamping done.

I figured I'd start the day off right with a fun card for the challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.  The design team cards are all so gorgeous and at first I was inspired to do something autumn-themed, then I spied this cute stamp and went in a totally different direction!

I've just realized that I think I was supposed to make my image fall off the edge of the cardstock.  Rats!  At least he's running toward the edge.....Hopefully that will suffice.  Sorry ladies!

colourQ 136

When I first sat down to make a card for this week's colourQ challenge, I was pretty sure that I was going to make a bright and cheery Mother's Day card, but as luck would have it I didn't like what I had going on so I scrapped it in favor of my cute little monster friend.

Ah, a face only a mother could love!  But I'm sure my mother wouldn't love it so she's definitely not getting this for Mother's Day!  The layout I used is the latest Deconstructed Sketch.

Ok, so our little colourQ friend below thinks that you've got a good shot at being the colourQueen, so get out those supplies and join us!  The design team has got some great cards and scrapbook pages to get your creative juices flowing!

Unscripted Sketches 155

The mailman brought me a new, very cute stamp set today that I couldn't wait to ink up.  So, once supper was over I went up to my stamp room and searched around blogland for a sketch that seemed like a good fit for what I had in mind.  The latest Unscripted Sketch was just the ticket!

This is not the usual sort of stamp that I go for, but when I stumbled across it a while ago there was something about it that I thought was so much fun that I decided I had to have it!  There's actually a whole bunch of monsters in the stamp set that are just as adorable as this little guy.

Now, on to the cardstock and DSP for this one.  When Stampin' Up! first came out with In Colors so many years ago, I hoarded all of the colors.  {Surprise, Surprise}.  One of my favorites was Vintage Violet.  I still have one un-opened package of cardstock  as well as half of an another one.  I also have some DSP from Halloween Night, which includes this gorgeous Vintage Violet page that I used for the biggest layer on my card.  I covet this so closely that I can barely believe that I cut into it for this card!  But there's no point in keeping this stuff forever, so in an effort to really demonstrate my commitment to using up my stash I cut into another page from this same package:  the old olive paper with the funky circles.

Both papers seemed to fit this funny little fellow so I'm not at all upset about seeing my stash depleted!
