Addicted to CAS Guest Designer

I am pleased as punch to be invited as a guest designer this week at Addicted to CAS!  I do love my clean cards!  The cue word is animal so, of course, I had to use a kitty on my card!

Now, I've got three cats but one of them in particular inspired this card because he is forever peeking at me from behind something.  Just look!

LOL!  He's my handsome boy!

Thanks for stopping by!  And huge thanks to the ladies at Addicted to CAS for inviting me along for this challenge.  It's a privilege to be designing alongside you!

Freshly Made Sketches 474

We've got a great new sketch for you from your friends at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our hostess is Judy and her sketch is perfect for a whole bunch of ideas!

I'm really not sure that I like my card, LOL!  I knew that I wanted to use a cat on my card because the Paper Players were "feline fine" for their challenge this week.  I'm a cat mom so any excuse to put a cat on a card is a good one in my book!  But I had a hard time deciding on colors and I'm just not sure this card is cute enough in the kitty category!  Oh and after I put this together I realized it qualified for the Tic Tac Toe challenge - the top horizontal row for me.

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow Freshly Made Sketches design team members have made some fabulous cards with this sketch so be sure to check them out!

Fusion Flowers

We've got a new challenge for you at Fusion!  The inspiration suggests a rainbow but since I didn't have any suitable rainbow images (or ideas !) I went with the sketch instead.

My card was inspired by one that I saw recently that used wide washi with a floral pattern as a background and then some additional layers for a sentiment.  I didn't have any wide washi but I have a rather large supply of patterned paper and I figured that would work just as well.  So I picked one that was pleasing to my eye, used that as a background, and added one slim layer in a complementary color and another in black because I love the contrast!  Oh and I added a die cut sentiment in black too!

Thanks for stopping by! My fellow Fusion teammates have some great cards to inspire you to play along with us so be sure to check them out!

Freshly Made Sketches 473

Hi everyone!  It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our hostess is Amy and her sketch is fantastic!

My little watercolored background panel is one that I have been pushing around my craft desk for - I don't know - years!  I can't remember what project I originally made it for but whatever it was I had this smallish bit left over that I never threw out.  All this time I've been moving this piece from one side of my desk to another thinking it was too pretty to get rid of and finally I was proved right!  (On a side note, I think I need some kind of container for scraps)!  I added a horizontal strip of vellum then cut the sentiment from black glitter paper on my Scan N Cut.

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow teammates at Freshly Made Sketches have got some great cards to inspire you to play along with us!

Supplies
Paper:  Whisper White, Pool Party, vellum (Stampin' Up!); Distress Watercolor (Tim Holtz); Black Foil Paper (Recollections)

Freshly Made Sketches 472

We've got a great new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches.  It's an uber clean and simple design brought to you by Narelle.  As much as I'm a clean and simple girl, sometimes all that white space confounds me!  Go figure!

I ended up doing a combination of a sketchy stamp and some washi tape for the two horizontal lines and then added a delicate butterfly and a sentiment.  I'm sure you can't see it in the picture, but the cardstock that I cut the butterfly from has got a lovely shimmer to it.  It's from an old specialty set from Stampin' Up! that I use sparingly because it's so pretty.  Yes, I'm a hoarder!

I chose to do this card in all brown because of the Chocolate challenge at Less is More.  I'm a little unclear about whether I need to use an image of chocolate (as in the edible kind) or whether I can use chocolate colors so I'll let the LIM design team decide whether or not to chuck me from the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by!  Our Freshly Made Sketches design team has interpreted this sketch is fabulous ways!  I'm sure you'll be inspired to play along with us!

Fusion - Valentine Gnome

I always associate gnomes with Christmas.  The hat and the full beard seem well suited to a cold climate, after all!  But our new challenge at Fusion places gnomes smack-dab in the middle of Valentine's Day!  I love the warm colors of the inspiration photo so I took my cues from those and combined it with the sketch.

I used a bunch of things from my stash on this card:  a stencil, a punch, some very cool gingham paper, and some stamps, of course!  I spent some time happily rooting around in my stash to make this card.  I love it when I can show some of my older supplies some love!

Come join us at Fusion - where you can use the inspiration photo, the sketch, or both.  It's totally up to you!  And for some inspiration head on over to check out what our design team has put together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches 471

Boy, I'm slacking on my blog!  It's been a full week since I've posted but luckily the new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches has given me the opportunity to get inky.  I've been having some computer problems lately that have consumed my crafty time but they are all sorted now so I hope to get some ink on my fingers very soon!  In the meantime we've got a great new sketch from Karren to debut.

That row of circles put me in mind of flowers and leaves.  So I used some daisy die cuts to arrange a sweet little flower spray on my circle.  And speaking of the circle, don't you just love the yellow gingham?  I do!  This is one of my favorite color combos and the yellow gingham makes it look even more beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by!  My fellow Freshly Made Sketches design team members have got some gorgeous cards ready to inspire you to play along with us.  So ink up those stamps and join us!
