Freshly Made Sketches 115

There's a fabulous new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches designed by the talented Jen Timko.  At this late date I am sadly in need of Christmas cards but I'm also in need of Christmas gift tags and when I saw the sketch a perfect layout for a gift tag is what I saw.

I spent a bit of time hemming and hawing over colors before I dug into my stash of DSP and chose Ski Slope for an accent primarily because I love the combo of Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze.  I added some die cut snowflakes a couple of festive Christmas-y stamps and I was done.  One more tag to cross off my to-do list!

Eep Op!

When I was a kid I loved to watch The Jetson's.  And in my mind one of the more memorable episodes was when Judy Jetson wrote a song to win a contest and it was sung the by pop star Jet Screamer.  The song was Eep Op Ork Ah Ah and that meant "I Love You!"  My card today is a little homage that hit song!

I used a couple of brand new stamps from The Alley Way Stamps called Gabfest and Meltdown and I played along with the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps and the colors at Dynamic Duos.  And I have a confession to make.  After I made this card I googled the song title and found out that the second word is actually spelled "Opp."  Apologies to Judy Jetson.

colourQ 218

This week at colourQ the palette has got some colors that are so popular this holiday season.  It seems like everywhere I turn I see gorgeous Christmas cards using shades of these colors.  I couldn't resist jumping on the bandwagon :)

It's been a dog's age since I played along with the Create With Connie and Mary challenge and I loved their sketch this week.  To my eye it was perfect to go along with these colors.  No flower say "Christmas" to me better than a poinsettia so I used that as the focal point on my card.  I love how clean and colorful this is!

My Fantasy Football team has made it into the playoffs!  Since this is the first time that I've played I'm pretty darn pleased with myself!  I'm facing some stiff competition coming up and I have very little hope that my team will persevere but I'll give it my best shot!

Peace, Love and Joy

I was hunkered down in my stamp room working on some projects when I was suddenly struck by an idea for a card using the latest CAS(E) This Sketch.  So I did what any good paper-crafter would do - I dropped everything and worked on that card before I forgot what I wanted to do!

I used a bunch of new stuff on this card.  It had been quite a while since I had any new Christmas stamps so this year I kind of went overboard and bought a whole bunch.  I'm not even sure that I'll get a chance to use them all this season, but I've got a new resolution to not be so far behind on my Christmas cards next year so I'm hopeful all my new stuff will see ink over the coming months!

I hope everyone was safe in the crazy Black Friday crowds and got lots of bargains this past weekend!  Don't forget that today is Cyber Monday so there's still lots more to buy!

It's Thanksgiving Eve here in the US and I'm celebrating with a card I made with the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week Linda Suarez is our hostess and her sketch is classic and full of possibility!

Tomorrow my head will be filled with visions of turkey, stuffing and all the other yummy things that go along with Thanksgiving but today my head is full of Christmas.  This sketch had the perfect element to show off this gorgeous poinsettia.  I accented it in the center with silver glimmer paper then continued that theme with the little dots around the sentiment.

colourQ 217

Hi everyone!  Are you ready for a new palette from colourQ?  I love this one because it's got two of my favorite colors:  Kiwi Kiss and Early Espresso!

I dug into my never-ending, somehow mysteriously multiplying DSP stash and found this Kiwi Kiss paper to use as a background for the tag.  Then I stamped this subway style sentiment (they're so popular right now and I love them) and surrounded it by some sweet colorful flowers.  I'm also playing along with the sketch at Fab Friday.  I took a little liberty and flipped the sketch, so I hope that's okay with the folks over there!
