Freshly Made Sketches 38

This week at Freshly Made Sketches we are welcoming five, count 'em, five new design team members that will be with us until the end of the year.  I'm sure you will recognize their names when you see them at the end of this post, because they are frequent participants in our challenge and because their work is so AWESOME!  So be sure that you pop on by to say hello before the day is over!

Now, onto this weeks fabulous sketch designed by the equally fabulous Linda and my card!

Now, you may have noticed that there is a layer to this sketch challenge that I have left off my card.  Let me assure you that it is totally by accident and I won't bore you with the details about why it happened.  Let's just say that when you print out a black and white copy of the sketch, there are things that are missing.

There is also, however, a fabulous color challenge this week at Create With Connie and Mary so I used that as my color inspiration.  I stamped the lovely swirl from Creative Elements in Lucky Limeade, then added a flower from the retired Greenhouse Garden stamped in Calypso Coral and Early Espresso.   A little Lucky Limeade ribbon and voila!

Now here's a list of our designers that have all got something fabulous to show you.  So be sure to stop on by check out their card and give them some love!  Then I hope you find time to participate in our sketch this week.  And {ahem} don't forget the scalloped layer!

lol...I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! But, really, it didn't need that extra layer anyway! Love the elegance of your card! Thanks for playing along with the color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

You have such talent in using backgrounds to showcase your main image! That dark panel sets the stage perfectly to showcase your flower - love the flourish behind it! No scallops needed~!

LOL, glad I am not the only one. I printed off my sketch to work from. When I went to upload my card.....I was wondering where everyone was coming up with the extra piece on the bottom! I made a quick revision.....then only after uploading...did I notice the scallops as well! So much for saving ink by printing in black only!

I love how your brown acts as a frame for your 'little art' in the middle - DELIGHTFUL! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

Hi Jen! You're card is simply beautiful! It's a lovely simple clean look and doesn't need a thing added to it. You didn't forget - it was meant to be ;-) And that color combo is divine. I will have to remember that one. Thanks for the inspiration and the lovely welcome!

Sometimes cards develop how they are supposed to! I agree that this is just right (but note to self on printing the layout). I love the pop of color from the flower and that awesome Ruffled Ribbon!
