When you have pets crafting can be somewhat challenging. I have two cats who like to be in my stamp room when I am in there (and sometimes when I'm not). One of them is not happy unless he is laying down on my desk in the exact spot where I work. The other one is not happy unless she is sitting on my lap and occasionally pawing at my chin. Neither is happy unless they leave a trail of fur wherever they go. Today that trail of fur lead to one of the stamps on my card, which lead to a little squiggly line because, of course, that fur picked up ink.
I'm hoping that you can't see the squiggly line, but in case you are looking it is on the right side of the "a" in "happy." :(
I made my card using the colors at Color Throwdown and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch. When I first saw that sketch I was stumped but the more I looked at it the more I wanted to try it. At first I was going to use some floral images but then I spied this set of random circles in my stash (that had yet to see ink) so I switched gears and used that instead. And the sentiment is an oldy-but-goody from Stampin' Up! I had forgotten all about it and stumbled across it the other day when I was organizing and resolved to use it soon. And soon is now upon us!
I've been trying to get my vegetable garden going over the last couple of weeks and last weekend I finally got just about everything planted. I hadn't been down to check on things for a few days and when I went down there today to water discovered that the woodchuck, who has been the bane of my existence since last year, got in there and ate everything except the peppers. I reinforced the fencing around the garden last fall so now I'm not sure how he's getting in there, but I'm now ready to call the pest control guy to get rid of this little son-of-a-gun. Grrrrr.
But enough of that! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fun use of the sketch and colors!! FYI-can't see the snugly line!! This for joining us at CTD!
So sorry to hear about your garden. We have our share of plant-eating wild life too. The darn ol' bunnies are chomping all those newly planted flowers like THEY bought them! Doo-doo heads! Anyway... Gorgeous card. Love those colors and your sweet CAS design. Such a 'happy' birthday card. Not a squiggle in sight either! Bev
Great use of that wonderful set. Had to giggle at the cat fur picking up ink - been there done that, but only have to contend with one kitty. Darn woodchuck...bunnies were my nemesis here for a long time until it built up around us. Dug up and ate all my crocuses and budding tulips - arrrrrgh!! Thankfully the deer were only around for a year! I vote for time to move the little guy out LOL!
Your kitties are just adding some artistic flair - lol! Actually, I can't even see the squiggle. Love the sweet circle border you created! Such a fun way to highlight the throwdown colors! So glad to see you in the throwdown gallery...always love your creations!
DARLING card design, and I think you rocked the sketch! Thanks for joining us for the Color Throwdown.
I really like the colors and the mix of stamps you've used Jen!! This is pretty even with the squiggly line on the "a"!! Maybe he was in the garden when you built the fence ~ haha!!!
What a pain about your garden! The worst we have to contend with here are snails and birds, but I feel your pain - all that work for nothing! Hope that woodchuck got indigestion! As for your card, it looks beautiful - barely visible cat fur and all :)
Just looking at that card makes me happy, regardless of a little cat hair...can't even see it! And yes, groundhogs can be a pain.....we had a couple make their vacation home under our porch...their main residence was under John's shed. I won't tell you how we got rid of them but babies always return, LOL!
What a cheery card! I saw the thumbnail at CTS and wanted to get a better look at it. It's great to see new life breathed into the older stamp sets.
I can totally relate with both the cat issues and the garden issues! Our kitty loves to lie right where I want to work, too, and I've frequently found stray fur stuck to my double-sided tape. We've managed to keep bunnies and deer out of our garden by spraying Liquid Fence. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on the neighbor kids and their kickball. LOL!
Oh, this is so pretty & fun! Great take on the sketch!
Oh, I loved your story off your two darling cats always being around when you are busy in your craft room, Jen!!! Aren't all cats the same, hey!!!! And by the way I could not see the squiggly line!!! Your card is so beautiful!!!! Love those beautiful circles and the lovely colours!!!! The sentiment looks great!!! Love your take on the sketch and how you've used the colours!!!! Beautiful!!!
Love your take of the sketch...it is great!!!
I love how you incorporated this sketch and using a stamp set that I own. :) Love how these two sets work so well together.
Cute story regarding the cat fur! With or without it, your card is a perfect take on the sketch!
I have two annoying and bothersome cats - but I LOVE them both. Their favorite trick is stealing my dies. Of course, it has required that I keep things a little cleaner which is good - but my heart sinks every time I see a cat stalking across the floor with a little silver die hanging out of their mouth.
I love the border you have created with Sunburst!
