Fusion - Wine and Cheese

Our Fusion challenge this week is about wine and cheese.  I don't have any wine or cheese images in my stash but I do have the colors in the inspiration photo so that's the direction I decided to go in.

I combined the sketch with the colors in the inspiration photo and make a Christmas card using some natural leafy images paired with a festive plaid.  I layered greenery, some berries, a pinecone and added a holiday sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out out our Fusion challenge where you can play with the sketch, the photo, or both!

Freshly Made Sketches 547

We've got a great new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Judy and I love her sketch!  Those vertical layers leave much to the imagination!

There were a lot of butterfly challenges around blogland this week so I combined my Freshly Made Sketches card with the tic-tac-toe challenge at The Paper Players (center horizontal) and the butterfly challenge at Allsorts.  I used some ancient DSP in a simple pattern then added an outline butterfly as my "circle"on the sketch.  The butterfly was a bit boring so I jazzed it up with some Wink of Stella.

Thanks for stopping by!  Our Freshly Made Sketches team has created some fabulous cards to inspire you to play along with us, so I hope we'll see you in the gallery!

Freshly Made Sketches 546

We've got a great new sketch for you this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Amy and she's cooked up a great sketch for you.  I can see lots of fun interpretations with this one.

The photo challenge at Just Us Girls provided some additional inspiration for this sketch.  The color of those falling leaves got me reaching for this leafy image which I stamped in a couple of shades of green.  I then popped up the middle part of the stamp with a circle die cut and finished off the circles on the sketch by stamping a couple of actual circles northwest and southeast of the middle one.  Follow me for more geography lessons!  😂

Thanks for stopping by!  My Freshly Made Sketches teammies have made some fantastic cards which will, for sure, inspire you to play along with us!

Fusion - Beach Tiers

We've got a great new challenge for you at Fusion.  I decided to go with an eclectic version of the sketch combined with the colors at Global Design Project.

I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with this sketch but then I stumbled on the CASE the designer challenge at Global Design Project.  I loved the colors and the different shapes and thought I could translate those to the Fusion sketch.  It's not perfect but it's inventive!  An outline rectangle, hexagons, and some string are what I used to make this card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you can join us at Fusion!

Stamps:  Simple Sentiments (Avery Elle)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); Bumblebee, Magenta Madness, Basic Gray (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Onyx Black (Versafine)

Freshly Made Sketches 545

Hi everyone.  It's time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch was designed by Narelle.  She says she threw this sketch together, but I don't believe her!  It's too awesome!

I'm 💯 in to the Christmas in July thing!  This time around I used the colors at Just Us Girls - unusual for a Christmas card - and used my favorite poinsettia die to create this card.

Thanks for stopping by!  My Freshly Made Sketches teammates have some fantastic cards to inspire you to play along with us, so be sure to check them out.  I hope you join us in the gallery!

Freshly Made Sketches 544

Happy Wednesday!  Today we've got a fabulous new sketch for you from Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess this week is Karren.  I love me some tilty panels!

I decided to make my card using the colors from the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge.  Red, white, and aqua are one of my favorite color combos for Christmas cards and my little gnome fits those colors perfectly.  Gnomes aren't necessarily Christmas-themed, but when you use them and add a Christmas sentiment they practically become Santa's elves!

Thanks for stopping by!  It's no surprise that my fellow Freshly Made Sketches design teamies have made some fantastic cards to inspire you to play along with us.  We hope you do!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Holiday Gnomes (Reverse Confetti); Christmas Quotes (Kaisercraft)
Paper:  Solar White (Neenah); X-Pressit Blending Card; Real Red, Shimmery White (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Black Licorice (My Favorite Things); Onyx Black (Versafine)
Accessories:  embellishments (Studio Katia)

Fusion - Hello Hat

We've got a fun new challenge for you at Fusion!  This time around I created a little fusion myself by combining the inspiration photo with the sketch.

By embossing some cardstock with burlap texture and cutting a couple of circles I made myself a little "hat" and topped it with some flowers just like the photo.  I used some woodgrain patterned paper to mimic the door.  The sentiment was stamped in black onto vellum and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder so that it wouldn't smear.

Thanks for stopping by!  There's some great inspiration at Fusion so be sure to check out the design team cards and play along with us!

Supplies
Stamps:  Kinda Eclectic (Stampin' Up!)
Paper:  Naturals White (Neenah); Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Marigold Morning, Woodland Walk DSP (Stampin' Up!); Blueberry Sky, vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Ink:  Fine Linen (Papertrey Ink); Onyx Black (Versfine)
Accessories:  Burlap embossing folder (Taylored Expressions)

Freshly Made Sketches 543

Hi all!  It's Wednesday so there's a brand new challenge for you at Freshly Made Sketches!  Cécile is our hostess this week and, once again, her superb CAS instincts shine through on this sketch.  I humbly just try to play along and mimic her style!

I've been wanting to use mesh (drywall) tape on a card for ages.  Every time I see it used on a card, it gets elevated on my to-do list and then, invariably, I forget about it until I see it again.  (I blame menopause for my forgetfulness)!  Since I live in an older home, which occasionally crumbles, drywall tape is something useful to have on hand and I've got quite a bunch.  Well, the other day I saw this card made by my friend Judy and my love of drywall tape started all over again.

The small square in Cecile's card was perfect for the mesh tape.  I added a silver-glimmer snowflake and a slim sentiment in a bright blue and this card was done.  Easy peasy.

Thanks for stopping by!  Our Freshly Made Sketches design team will surely inspire you to play along with us. Join us in the gallery!
